Dear animal lovers and compassionate individuals. We are excited to present the MH Foundation, an initiative
dedicated to making a difference in the lives of stray dogs and horses on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. We
believe that every life deserves love, care, and protection, and we invite you to join us on this meaningful journey.
In Sri Lanka, countless stray dogs roam the streets, facing hunger, disease, and neglect. These innocent beings
deserve a chance at a better life. Our primary focus is to rescue, nurture, and rehabilitate these stray dogs. By
providing them with the care they desperately need, including nourishment, medical treatment, sterilization, and
shelter, we can ensure their well-being and give them a second chance.
Our mission
However, our mission goes beyond just helping dogs. The MH Foundation understands the importance of community involvement. By establishing our projects, we aim to create employment opportunities for the locals. We believe in the power of empowering communities, and our initiative will not only support the dogs but also provide sustainable livelihoods for individuals in need.
Our dedicated team of professionals will train local individuals in dog care, rehabilitation, and veterinary support. Through education and practical skills, we will equip them with the necessary tools to provide the best care for these dogs. By fostering a sense of responsibility and compassion within the community, we can ensure a lasting impact for the welfare of stray animals.
Horses in need
Furthermore, the MH Foundation proudly extends its services to the incredible horses of Sri Lanka. These majestic creatures, often used for transportation and leisure activities, deserve our care and attention.
Our special department is dedicated to providing veterinary care, nutrition, and shelter for horses in need. We believe that by protecting these horses, we preserve a part of Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage.

To begin with, the money goes to the location for the shelter. At the moment we are busy looking for a suitable location. In Colombo city itself this is a bit more difficult due to space, so we focus on a location just outside Colombo city. Here we have enough land to create a location for both the dogs and the horses.
Location also includes housing and staff. In addition to the location, the money will be used for: basic care, medical care, training, materials. Given the current situation in Sri Lanka, we can also make a social contribution through this shelter for dogs and horses by providing the local population with housing, income and future prospects.
In the beginning there is a need for shelter in general. That is to say: We will use the donations for the 1st project for the realization of this project. The project will provide care for both dogs and horses. If there are specific projects for dogs or horses at a later date, you can also donate for that. The most important thing is that the shelter is set up as quickly as possible and in a structured way.
We deliberately cut this long-term project into smaller projects, so that we can achieve our intended goals faster. And in this way we can also look for more targeted donors.
In the beginning we focus on Colombo city. But indeed this is the case throughout Sri Lanka. From Jaffna to Galle and from Negombo, Kandy to Trincomalee. We will first establish ourselves here and will then gradually expand so that we will soon have a network of our branches.
