Let me briefly introduce myself

Rob Heijtink, born and raised in Rotterdam the Netherlands on 08-08-1975. Family man, widower of Miranda Heijtink, father of 4. Responsible (with love) for 3 dogs (2x German shepherds, 1x Belgian Shepherd and 1 Frisian horse.)

Since 2013, my ventures to Sri Lanka for business prospects have been overshadowed by a poignant sight: the abundance of stray dogs roaming the streets. The heart-wrenching experience of witnessing their plight during every car journey left an indelible mark. Upon returning to the Netherlands, I shared my distress with my late wife, Miranda Heijtink. Tragically, in 2020, Miranda passed away, deepening my resolve to address the suffering of these animals. In her memory, we resolved to establish a foundation primarily focused on aiding stray dogs in Sri Lanka, with a commitment to extend support to other vulnerable creatures like cats and horses. Our mission is to provide essential services such as medical care, sustenance, shelter, and training, with the ultimate aspiration of establishing comprehensive shelters, training facilities, and medical centers across Sri Lanka.
