Successful Dog Spaying and Vaccination Project Launched in Bopitiya, Sri Lanka
Bopitiya, Sri Lanka – July 18, 2024: The MH-Foundation, in collaboration with the professional team from Pet Vet Sri Lanka, successfully launched and executed its first MH-Foundation Dog Spaying/Vaccination project. This landmark initiative aimed to control the stray dog population and promote animal health in the community.
During the project, the dedicated team achieved the following:
- Total Spays: 13
- Total Vaccinations: 6
- DHPRL-14: 1
- RL-15: 1
- ARV-4: 1
- Parvo: 1
- Other Treatments: 1
The teams took to the streets of Bopitiya to catch stray dogs. Each animal was carefully examined by the professional medical team to determine the necessary treatments, including spaying and vaccinations. Post-surgery, the animals received attentive care to ensure their well-being.
In addition to the medical procedures, the event featured an educational component for the local community. Visitors to the site received guidance on how to care for street dogs and were informed about the importance of spaying and vaccinations. The outreach was so effective that many locals brought their own pets for medical attention.
The event garnered attention from a local news company, further spreading awareness about the project and its benefits.
The MH-Foundation and Pet Vet Sri Lanka extend their gratitude to the community for their support and participation, and look forward to continuing their efforts in improving animal welfare in Bopitiya and beyond.
